Honeywell Aerospace to build $500 million manufacturing facility in Tempe

Oct. 28, 2026

Tempe, AZ - Today, Honeywell Aerospace announced that a new $500 million, 300,000-square-foot facility will be built as an expansion to its Tempe campus.

It's expected that 600 people will work at the facility, which is scheduled to open in late 2028. In addition, construction of the facility will support more than 1,000 local jobs.

"This project marks the largest aerospace investment in Tempe's history, and we are proud to be the city of choice for Honeywell Aerospace's significant expansion," said Mayor Corey Woods. "This key project sets the stage for further growth and development of our region's aerospace, technology and manufacturing sectors, helping to strengthen Arizona's position in the global market."

Honeywell Aerospace is an independent global aerospace and defense company whose critical technologies are broadly deployed on the world's leading commercial air transport, business aviation, defense and space platforms. The company employs more than 36,000 people globally and supports more than 10,000 customers.

"This tremendous investment marks a key milestone for both Honeywell Aerospace and our local economy, showing the world that Tempe is where innovators thrive," said Tempe City Manager Rosa Inchausti. "Through the creation of 600 new, high-quality jobs, this state-of-the-art facility will support the local workforce and attract new talent to the region."

The new facility will include an integrated digital production system, modular robotics, automated inspection, digital twins, and be powered by an end-to-end digital thread. The facility will support Honeywell Aerospace's largest commercial and defense customers and most advanced products.

"Demand for technology from Honeywell Aerospace continues to accelerate across both commercial and defense markets, and this major investment ensures we can continue delivering for our customers while unlocking long-term growth for our shareholders," said Jim Currier, president and chief executive officer of Honeywell Aerospace. "This is an example of how our recent spin into an independent, publicly-traded Honeywell Aerospace allows us to make decisions and investments that support our growth and the future of aviation and defense."

"Arizona has been at the heart of our innovation and manufacturing operations for decades," Currier continued. "Expanding on our existing Tempe campus with this state-of-the-art new facility reinforces our commitment to this great state, our employees and the Arizona workforce, as well as the customers around the world who depend on our technology every day."
