Sight Sciences is pleased to announce its support for Glaucoma UK's National Patient Voices Survey, a new initiative designed to capture the experiences of people living with glaucoma across the United Kingdom.
Developed by Glaucoma UK in partnership with the Picker Institute, the survey aims to engage up to 10,000 people affected by glaucoma across all four UK nations. The findings will help build a clearer picture of the realities of living with glaucoma, including treatment experience, quality of life, confidence in care and the wider impact of the condition on everyday life.
The project is intended to generate the most comprehensive assessment of glaucoma patient experience undertaken in the UK to date, with findings expected to inform future service development, professional education and policy discussions across the eye care system.
Sight Sciences is supporting the initiative as part of its ongoing commitment to improving glaucoma care and advancing understanding of the patient experience.
Paul Badawi, CEO at Sight Sciences, commented:
"Glaucoma UK has a long and respected history of supporting patients and their families, while continuing to champion improvements in glaucoma care across the UK.
"We're excited to support the National Patient Voices Survey and the important work it seeks to do in better understanding the experiences of people living with glaucoma. The scale and ambition of the project are impressive and have the potential to provide valuable insight for the wider glaucoma community."
"As clinicians, industry and policymakers look at how glaucoma services continue to evolve, it's important that patient perspectives form part of that conversation. We look forward to seeing the findings and the discussions which they help to inform."
Joanne Creighton, Chief Executive of Glaucoma UK, said:
"We are pleased to welcome Sight Sciences as a supporting partner sponsor for the National Patient Voices Survey. This project represents an important opportunity to ensure the experiences of people living with glaucoma are heard, understood and reflected in future discussions about glaucoma care and service development.
"Support from organisations across the ophthalmic industry helps make a project of this scale possible, while maintaining the independence that is fundamental to its credibility."
The National Patient Voices Survey will be independently designed, delivered and analysed by Glaucoma UK and the Picker Institute. Supporting organisations will have no influence over survey design, data analysis, findings or recommendations.
The survey will run between July and September this year, with findings due to be shared following completion of the analysis phase.
