Defendant Convicted of Sexually Assaulting Two Girls Under 10 Years Old

On June 29, 2026, Dayshawn Pogue was convicted by a jury of 13 counts of child sexual assault charges. The jury also found true a multiple victim enhancement and aggravating factors of vulnerable victim and the defendant was in a position of trust.

Between 2018 and 2019, Dayshawn Pogue sexually assaulted two girls when they were ages 7 and 8 years old. The sexual assaults included various acts of molestation, escalating to sexual intercourse with one of the victims. During each incident, Pogue told the victims to be quiet, and at times covered their mouths. He also told them they could not tell because either they would get in trouble, or it would happen to them again.

Pogue faces a maximize potential sentence of 295 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for August 7, 2026, at 10:30 AM in Department 12B before the Honorable Ernest Sawtelle.
