In Astana, the participants of the meeting of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the CIS Member States laid flowers at the "Defenders of the Motherland" Monument.

Astana hosted the meeting of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the CIS Member States.
Delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are taking part in the work of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff.
The participants exchanged views on the military-political situation, regional and Eurasian security, and military cooperation.
In his report, Major General Pavel Muraveiko noted that the substance and priorities of cooperation within the CIS framework are primarily determined by the current state of regional security and trends in the military and political environment both around CIS member states and globally.
The head of the Belarusian military delegation proposed stepping up work in the following areas:
- exchanging experience in the establishment and development of the national armed forces of the CIS member states;
- incorporating new forms and methods of warfare into operational and combat training, taking into account best practice from modern armed conflicts;
- improving methods for the use of and countering unmanned aerial systems, and for the demining of terrain and facilities;
- conducting coordinated operations by the troops (forces) forming part of the integrated air defence system of the CIS member states;
- improving the regulatory framework for cooperation within the unified system for monitoring and assessing the NBC situation;
- exchanging information on aviation incidents, as well as analytical materials on accident rates and the implementation of preventive measures;
- enhancing the effectiveness of the relevant committees with a view to strengthening national armed forces and further developing military cooperation within the Commonwealth framework.

Astana hosted a regular meeting of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the CIS Member States.
The participants reviewed the military-political situation around the world and along the borders of the CIS member states, as well as assessed current security challenges and threats. Particular attention was paid to regional stability and national security, as well as the further development of defence and military cooperation. They also discussed current and future tasks related to the practical development of multilateral military cooperation within joint military systems.

The Chiefs of General Staff supported approaches aimed at incorporating experience of conducting military operations in modern conditions into the practical aspects of operational and combat training for the armed forces. It was noted that this area of cooperation contributes to the development of defence cooperation.
Following the meeting, the parties signed decisions aimed at further strengthening the system of multilateral military cooperation, taking into account both national and common interests.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus Major General Pavel Muraveiko held talks with First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Kanysh Abubakirov.
The parties emphasised that bilateral military cooperation continues to develop successfully, characterised by well-established and stable ties. They also noted that the planned framework of cooperation serves as clear evidence of long-term, pragmatic and productive relations between the countries.
