ALLENTOWN, Pa. (Nov. 13, 2025) - PPL Electric Utilities contributed $750,000 in 2025 through Pennsylvania's Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program to 118 organizations working to improve education and provide high-quality early childhood education for students across PPL Electric's 29-county service territory.
"A commitment to helping our youth establish strong foundations in education is vital to building thriving communities," said Christine Martin, President of PPL Electric Utilities. "This initiative is a meaningful way for businesses to invest in the future of our neighborhoods by partnering with organizations that are making a real difference in children's lives."
A total of 104 nonprofit Educational Improvement Organizations received $550,000 in grants in 2025 for their efforts to create and enhance innovative academic programs at public schools. These include programs focused on science, career exploration, performing arts, reading and math enrichment, and literacy. Additionally, the company donated $200,000 to 14 pre-K programs and Educational Improvement Organizations to expand educational opportunities for students. Since the program began in 2001, PPL Electric has contributed nearly $20 million toward education in the state. The recipients must be qualified by the state's Department of Community and Economic Development.
PPL Electric accepts applications for EITC grants annually from June 1 to July 15. Interested Educational Improvement Organizations and pre-K scholarship organizations can apply online at www.pplcares.com during that period.
