Criminal Justice Commission (CJC) is pleased to share the following news coverage highlighting the important work of its Law Enforcement Planning Council in addressing the youth vaping crisis in Palm Beach County. The article underscores the behavioral health dimensions of the escalating youth vaping crisis, including the role of mental health providers, schools, and healthcare partners in responding to this community-wide concern. This is a direct reflection of the cross-sector work the Behavioral Health Task Force (BHTF) was designed to advance.

In response to this growing crisis, the BHTF will be launching its own initiative focused on family education, equipping parents, caregivers, and families with the knowledge, resources, and tools they need to recognize, address, and prevent youth vaping. More details will be forthcoming as we develop the scope and next steps. We look forward to the task force's engagement and leadership on this important issue. Thank you to BHTF for the meaningful work you do on behalf of Palm Beach County residents.

Please watch the Board of County Commissioners workshop on June 16 , where the CJC is sharing information on v aping among teens and the collaboration of community partners in educating the Public about v aping. For any additional information, please contact Taruna Malhotra, Executive Director or Dawn Caveness-Davenport, Senior Criminal Analyst.
