What to know about potential FAA flight reductions at TPA

tpa-airside-c-2 (2) (1)

Tampa International Airport is closely monitoring developments following the FAA's issuance of statements about potential restrictions on air traffic in 40 high-volume markets.

The Airport is currently awaiting information about how TPA may be affected by this plan. The FAA has stated that it will reduce air traffic by 10 percent in 40 markets nationwide, but has yet to announce an official list of facilities where these reductions will take effect or how this plan will be implemented in each market.

Tampa International Airport is the 27th largest airport in the U.S. and has approximately 600 flight operations daily, which includes both commercial and private aircraft.

Airlines set flight schedules and will implement changes in coordination with the FAA. TPA does not manage flight schedules, so any changes to routes are determined and communicated by individual carriers.

As always, passengers should check directly with their airlines regarding their flight. Airline contact information is available here.
