The National Weather Services has extended a Flood Watch through 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, across the North Bay. The NWS has also issued a Flood Watch from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, through 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, for the rest of the Bay Area, including Mountain View, and Central Coast.

According to NWS, moderate to heavy rain associated with an atmospheric river will bring 2-5" in the valleys, with up to 6-8" in the coastal mountains. Creeks and streams could see rapid rises during and after heavy rainfall. Standing water is likely in urban areas and on low-lying roadways. Remember: Turn around, don't drown!

Prepare for storm conditions now: sand and sandbags are available at no charge to Mountain View residents at the City's Municipal Operations Center, 231 N. Whisman Road. Bring a shovel to fill the sandbags.
