Advancing Community Health
Community Wellness Day targets improved health outcomes for South Fulton residents, offering screenings and wellness services to over 500 men and families while raising awareness of chronic disease, mental health, and preventive care. Culturally informed education, family engagement, and promotion of sustainable lifestyle choices strengthen social cohesion and highlight local wellness vendors and small businesses.
"Community Wellness Day is a declaration that our lives matter, our health matters, and our healing begins now. If we can prevent even one family from experiencing a tragedy like the one I faced with my father, then our mission has already succeeded," said Ladray B. Gilbert, JD, event organizer.
A Celebration of Health and Community
Beyond health services, the day features a 5K Run/Walk, live entertainment, family-friendly activities, nutritious food, and a variety of wellness vendors-making health promotion engaging, accessible, and community-centered.
Leadership and Recognition
Michael Hightower serves as Honorary Chair, providing strategic guidance for this historic initiative. Grammy Award-winning artist and philanthropist Ceelo Green will receive the inaugural Community Health Champion Award for his commitment to promoting wellness and uplifting communities nationwide.
Through the leadership of Hightower and the advocacy of Green, Community Wellness Day demonstrates the power of collaboration to improve health outcomes and empower communities.
