As Trump Gears Up for Mass Firings, Winsome Earle-Sears Refuses To Tell Trump Not To Fire Federal Workers in Virginia Arrow

As Donald Trump and his administration gear up to fire federal workers en masse in "the next day or two," Winsome Earle-Sears once again threw hard-working Virginians under the bus this week by refusing three times to tell Trump not to fire Virginians.

Make no mistake, after already assaulting Virginia's workforce through DOGE, the looming cuts will disproportionately harm the Commonwealth, which is home to hundreds of thousands of federal employees. Virginia is not only the state with the third-largest number of federal employees, but it also has the largest number of federal contractors, whom Trump also continues to target.

A reminder: Over 32,000 hard-working Virginians are on track to lose their jobs thanks to DOGE. Meanwhile, Earle-Sears stumped with one of the chief architects of DOGE this month, and earlier this year, she callously remarked that losing a job "happens all of the time."

In response, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:

"Winsome Earle-Sears doesn't care about the hundreds of thousands of Virginians who are terrified that they are about to be fired en masse by Donald Trump. Instead, Earle-Sears continues to defend Trump and his billionaire-first agenda, which has already forced Virginia's economy into crisis. Trump's assault on the federal workforce is a direct assault on the Commonwealth of Virginia, and Winsome Earle Sears' refusal to hold him accountable is disqualifying. Virginians deserve a champion who will create opportunity, make Virginians' lives easier, and make the Commonwealth more affordable - and that leader is Abigail Spanberger."
