Charles County Historic Preservation Commission to Host 2025 Historic Preservation Reception and Awards CeremonyPost Date:09/11/2025 9:00 AM News Release # 2025-091 Thursday, September 11, 2025 The Charles County Historic Preservation Commission will host the 2025 Historic Preservation Reception and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Historic Ellerslie (7730 Ann Harbor Drive, Port Tobacco, MD 20677). The event will honor the recipients of the 2025 Charles County Historic Preservation Awards, which recognize outstanding achievements in historic preservation. Awards are presented annually in two categories: Preservation Service -honoring individuals, businesses, or organizations that have made significant contributions to historic preservation in Charles County. Preservation Project -recognizing exemplary restoration, rehabilitation, or adaptive reuse projects. To conclude the ceremony, a guided tour of Historic Ellerslie will be offered to the first 20 guests who RSVP. "The Historic Preservation Awards highlight the individuals and projects that keep Charles County's history alive for future generations," said Cathy Thompson, Deputy Director, Department of Planning and Growth Management.
