Route MM in Franklin County to Reopen Thursday, April 23

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has good news this week for drivers around Route MM in Franklin County. Closed since last summer, Route MM is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 3 p.m. Thursday, April 23.

During the closure, crews completed a series of roadway and bridge improvements near the Union Pacific Railroad bridge. The project included construction of a retaining wall, curve widening, installation of a box culvert, shoulder widening, and resurfacing along the route.

The reopening marks the completion of the primary construction work for the project, improving safety and driving conditions for motorists in the area.

Crews will continue working through Thursday to finalize remaining items, including finish grading and seeding, installation of a Type C crashworthy end treatment (crash cushion) on the barrier wall to protect the bridge pier, and general cleanup.
