Six members of Cozen O'Connor's Labor & Employment Department have been named to Lawdragon's 2027 list of Leading U.S. Corporate Employment Lawyers. Susan Eisenberg, Jeremy Glenn, Michael Schmidt, Joseph Tilson, Anna Wermuth, and A. Martin Wickliff, Jr. were all recognized on the list.
Anna Wermuth has been named to the list for the 10th consecutive year, Susan Eisenberg and Jeremy Glenn have both been named for the seventh consecutive year, and Michael Schmidt has been named for the sixth consecutive year. Joseph Tilson and A. Martin Wickliff, Jr. have both been recognized for their 16th consecutive years and are members of the Lawdragon Hall of Fame, which recognizes attorneys who have made remarkable career-long contributions to the legal profession.

Susan Eisenberg has more than 35 years of experience representing employers in all aspects of employment law and extensive jury and non-jury trial experience involving harassment, discrimination, and wage-and-hour claims. She is currently serving a three-year term on Cozen O'Connor's Board of Directors. Susan is Florida Bar Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law and has been a fellow of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers since 2007. She has an active neutral practice as a certified circuit mediator and arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association. In 2020, 2024, and 2026, Susan was named a "Lawyer of the Year" for Labor & Employment Litigation by Best Lawyers. She is consistently recognized by Chambers USA for both Labor & Employment and Labor & Employment: Mediators and has also been recognized by Chambers Global.
Jeremy Glenn defends class action wage-and-hour overtime disputes, EEO class actions, and retaliatory discharge cases. He has obtained TROs and preliminary injunctions in response to labor disputes and tried dozens of labor arbitrations along with leading collective bargaining negotiations for employers and employee associations covering thousands of employees. He currently serves as the managing partner for the firm's Chicago office and is a fellow of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers. He is an active leader in the American Bar Association's Labor & Employment Law Section and has held numerous leadership positions including co-chair of the ABA's Federal Labor Standards Legislation Committee, the largest committee devoted to federal wage-and-hour laws. He is recognized by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers, and Super Lawyers, and has been recognized four times by Crain's Chicago Business, most recently as one of their "Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law" in 2026.
Michael Schmidt, co-chair of Cozen O'Connor's Labor & Employment Department, has assisted businesses and their management teams throughout the United States in accomplishing their goals through litigation, negotiation, and day-to-day counseling for more than 30 years. He is a trial lawyer who represents employers in federal and state courts, in arbitration, and before government agencies on issues including discrimination, wage and hour, leave obligations, breach of contract, whistleblowing, and restrictive covenants. He is chair of the office managing partners, co-office managing partner of the New York office, a member of the firm's management committee, and a fellow of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers. He has been recognized by Crain's New York Business as one of their "Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law" in 2026. He is also the founder and host of the Employment Law Now podcast, which covers developments and trends in employment law and is available on iTunes and Spotify.
Joseph Tilson has tried more than 150 jury and non-jury cases before the full range of courts, administrative agencies, and labor arbitrators. His clients include a number of the country's largest public and private employers, and Illinois' most prestigious universities, whom he represents in both traditional labor law matters and employment litigation. As the former co-chair of the firm's Labor & Employment Department, Joe was instrumental in the growth of the practice. He is also a fellow of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers and a past-chair of the American Bar Association's Labor & Employment Law Section. He has been named the Chicago Employment Law "Lawyer of the Year" by Best Lawyers five times and has been recognized by Chambers USA and Chambers Global.
Anna Wermuth, co-chair of Cozen O'Connor's Labor & Employment Department, represents employers in high-stakes, high-profile labor and employment litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. A. Martin Wickliff, Jr. is a certified arbitrator and mediator through the American Arbitration Association. He is a veteran litigator and trial lawyer in all phases of labor and employment law, including advice and counsel, trials, and appeals involving all types of discrimination matters. He is a former director of the State Bar of Texas board of directors and is Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the State Bar of Texas. He has been recognized as one of "The 25 Greatest Texas Lawyers of the Past Quarter-Century" by Texas Lawyer and "Top 100 in Texas" by Texas Super Lawyers and Texas Monthly. He is also a fellow of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers and is ranked in Chambers USA, Best Lawyers, and Super Lawyers.
