Call for Faculty Professional Leave Applications

Section 10 of the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) provides the following information about faculty professional leave: 

"Professional leave is granted for the purpose of affording faculty members an opportunity to carry forward research, to improve teaching techniques or methods, or to participate in other creative endeavors which by their nature and scope enable individuals to enhance their contributions to the programs of the University."

All applications in AY 2026-27 for professional leave to be taken in AY 2027-28 will be processed in Interfolio. Click here to request a professional leave application.

Faculty members should consult their department chairs regarding department-specific fall submission deadlines. Department chairs will forward completed applications to college deans by October 15, and college deans, in turn, will forward completed applications to the Provost by November 15. Faculty applicants will be notified about final award decisions by January 31, 2027.
