State Route 24 (Sr-24) Caldecott Tunnel Overnight Closure Bores #1, 2 And 3

Monday, May 11 to Wednesday, May 13, 2026, nightly from 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans maintenance have scheduled overnight closures of Bores 1, 2, and 3 in the Caldecott Tunnel on State Route 24 (SR-24) to conduct sampling of cementitious drainpipes, collect water sludge, and perform routine tunnel maintenance. All activities are dependent on weather conditions and may be changed as necessary.

Bore Closure Schedule for SR-24:

*10:00 PM - 4:30 AM*

Bores #2 Closure EB SR-24

  • Monday, May 11, 2026

Bore #1 Closure EB SR-24

  • Tuesday, May 12, 2026

Bore #3 Closure WB SR-24

  • Wednesday, May 13, 2026

During these closures, at least one bore in each direction will remain open.

Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays, prepare to merge and allow for extra travel time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
