Additional Victims Sought in Child Sex Abuse Investigation

On Saturday, July 18, 2026, Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to an assault at a home near Metzger Park in unincorporated Washington County. The reporting party said he had come home and found an adult man in bed with his minor child.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) identified the man as 30-year-old Jason Emmanuel Lara-Vazquez. Detectives learned that Lara-Vazquez was posing as a teenager when he met the victim on Snapchat and had sexual contact with her more than once. Lara-Vazquez was taken to a hospital that night after a confrontation at the home.

On September 15, 2026, a Washington County grand jury convened and indicted Lara-Vazquez on the following crimes related to the incident:

  • Rape in the second degree x2
  • Sodomy in the second degree x2
  • Sexual abuse in the first degree x4
  • Unlawful sexual penetration in the second degree x2

On September 24, 2026, the Vancouver Police Department assisted WCSO detectives in arresting Lara-Vazquez. He was lodged at the Clark County Jail and extradited to the Washington County Jail on October 8, 2026.

Detectives are concerned there may be additional victims and want to speak with anyone who has information about Lara-Vazquez or who was contacted by him on Snapchat or other social media. Please contact VCU detectives at 503-846-2500 and reference case number 50-26-10111.

In accordance with Oregon House Bill 3273, the Sheriff's Office is releasing Lara-Vazquez's booking photo to assist in identifying any additional criminal activity.
