Republicans' devastating cuts to Medicaid put 900 health facilities at risk of closure or cutting essential services

Under Donald Trump and Republicans, the healthcare crisis in America is worsening by the day. As healthcare costs skyrocket, families are being forced to travel long distances to get healthcare or forgo healthcare altogether as hospitals across the country shutter because of Trump and Republicans' "One, Big, Beautiful Bill." Hospitals, maternity wards, and other healthcare service providers in all 50 states are on the brink of closure because of Trump and Republicans' $1 trillion cuts to Medicaid.

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

"America is knee-deep in a healthcare crisis created by Donald Trump and Republicans who made the biggest cuts to healthcare in history to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. Medical centers have already closed their doors, and hundreds more are on the brink of closure, leaving communities without the healthcare they rely on or an emergency room when they need lifesaving care. Families shouldn't have to choose between driving hours to get healthcare or forgoing care altogether because Trump sold them out for his wealthy donors. Democrats are fighting to ensure that every American has quality, affordable healthcare."
