On 29 August, Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys met with the Palestinian Authority's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekian Shahin.

During the meeting, the Minister emphasized Lithuania's concern about the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and informed about Lithuania's intentions to continue contributing to the international community's humanitarian assistance to Palestinians. The Minister confirmed his support for the implementation of the two-state solution.

"We call on all sides to respect international humanitarian law and return to the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement. Humanitarian aid must be resumed and provided without any hindrance, and all Israeli hostages held by Hamas must be released immediately," Budrys said.
Ministers also discussed cooperation between Lithuania and Palestine in supporting the digital transformation of the Palestinian Authority and contributing to its institutional capacity building.
