The City of Orange has reached a tentative settlement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 47, which represents employees in the Maintenance & Crafts and Water Division, ending the strike that began on Sunday, March 1.

The settlement is consistent with the compensation pattern that is being proposed to all collective bargaining groups and expires on June 30, 2027.

"This resolution recognizes the importance of the hardworking employees represented by IBEW Local 47, who play a critical frontline role in serving our community," said Mayor Dan Slater. "I'm proud we were able to reach an outcome that reflects the City's commitment to fairness, equity, and respect for our employees."

Employees are expected to return to work on Monday, March 16.
