De Rijksministerraad heeft op voorstel van minister Van Weel van Buitenlandse Zaken ingestemd met twee ambassadeursbenoemingen op het Westelijk Halfrond. Deze zijn pas definitief als het gastland goedkeuring heeft verleend. De benoemingen gaan vanaf deze zomer in.
De Rijksministerraad stemde in met de benoeming van ambassadeurs op de volgende posten:
- Colombia, met standplaats Bogotá: Marielle Geraedts, nu ambassadeur in Manilla.
- Suriname, met standplaats Paramaribo: Marjolein Busstra, nu plaatsvervangend chef de poste in Rabat.
