KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Kutztown University's LGBTQ+ Resource Center and Women's Center will host the ninth annual Gender and Sexual Minorities (GSM) Conference Oct. 1-3, McFarland Student Union (MSU). This year's conference will highlight LGBTQ+ History: Honoring our Past, Present and Future, with keynote speaker Chloe Davis, who will present at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in the MSU 218.
The GSM conference is free to attend and features 17 presentations on a variety of topics including, "Queer Disability Justice," "Wayfinding for survival: Arts-based autoethnography for Healing and Self-Recovery,"The History & Legacy of Stonewall," and "From Silence to Spotlight: The History of LGBTQ+ Representation in Sports."

This annual conference serves annual educational forum that highlights the experiences, struggles, progress and movements toward equity and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community.
Davis, keynote speaker, is a Broadway performer and debut author. A graduate of Hampton University and Temple University, she centered her creative platform on amplifying the narratives of black culture and heightening the awareness of LGBTQ+ community. Davis will present on the LGBTQ+ history and power of language. She is the author of the book "The Queen's English, The LBGTQIA+ Dictionary of Lingo and Colloquial Phrases," which celebrates the etymological diversity of more than 800 terms used to describe the collective gay and queer experience. Davis said, "it is an epic journey of understanding identity, sexuality, gender, equality, humor, community and pride."
