JJ Gorman, Renowned Facultative Reinsurance Leader, to Join Ryan Re Underwriting Managers

SEPTEMBER 23, 2025 | CHICAGO, IL - Ryan Specialty (NYSE: RYAN), a leading international specialty insurance firm, is pleased to announce that John "JJ" Gorman will be joining Ryan Re Underwriting Managers ("Ryan Re"), a managing general underwriter focused on property and casualty reinsurance, on October 1, 2025. JJ will serve as Head of Facultative and Facilities and will initially focus on casualty facultative business as the result of the Markel renewal rights reinsurance flow of business.

JJ Gorman is an experienced global insurance leader with over 30 years in the business and has held a variety of senior roles in reinsurance. JJ was most recently Head of Facultative at Berkshire Hathaway, where he started the property and casualty facultative business, building it into a leading player in the space.
