TAMPA, Fla. (November 14, 2025) -- Tampa Police are on scene following a report of a shot fired near E 5th Avenue and N 22nd Street.

Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

While early in investigation, it appears the shooting stemmed from a roadway dispute. The shooter, an adult male, claimed self-defense and is cooperating with investigators.

The firearm has been recovered, and there is no threat to the community at this time.

N 22nd Street between E 4th Avenue and E 5th Avenue and E 5th Avenue between N 21st Street and N 22nd Street are closed at this time.
