Roku Originals and Paris Hilton’s 11:11 Media Revisit Fame, Frenzy, and Pop Culture in “The It Girls: Inside the 2000s” (wt)

Documentary featuring and executive produced by Hilton, 11:11 Media, EverWonder Studio, and Hi Mom Productions to debut on The Roku Channel in 2027

SAN JOSE, Calif. - August 31, 2026 - Before social media, there was the tabloid era. Before influencers, there were "It Girls." Roku Originals and 11:11 Media's upcoming documentary "The It Girls: Inside the 2000s" (wt), now in pre-production, will look back at the early 2000s, when paparazzi, tabloids, and reality television transformed celebrities into commodities and fundamentally changed the relationship between fame, media and popular culture. Featuring celebrity icon and entrepreneur Paris Hilton, "The It Girls: Inside the 2000s" (wt) is executive produced by Hilton and her next-gen media company 11:11 Media, alongside EverWonder Studio, the producers behind the viral hit "Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model," and Hi Mom Productions. The documentary will exclusively launch on The Roku Channel in 2027.

Inspired by the book "TOXIC: Women, Fame and the Tabloid 2000s" by Sarah Ditum, "The It Girls: Inside the 2000s" (wt) will go behind the glossy images of early 2000s tabloid culture to tell the stories of the women who became headlines-and the women still living that story today. Through rich archival, never-before-seen conversations, and new intimate, revealing interviews, the documentary will deliver the era audiences are still obsessed with-the fashion, the flash, the chaos, the iconic headlines-and reframe every image of it as evidence of the good, the bad, and everything in between. This is the exclusive scoop behind the scoop, straight from the women who lived it.

"At Roku, we're building an original content slate that captures and creates the entertainment and pop culture moments audiences can't stop talking about," said Brian Tannenbaum, Head of Originals, Roku Media. "Few eras are as nostalgic, fascinating and culturally defining as the early 2000s. We're thrilled to partner with Paris Hilton-one of the era's most iconic figures-and this incredible production team to tell the definitive story of an era that forever changed celebrity culture."

"The early 2000s changed everything about what it meant to be famous, and who better to talk about those moments than the women who lived it," said Paris Hilton, CEO of 11:11 Media. "We were living in a world where the cameras were always on, the headlines were everywhere, and there was no playbook for what came next. Looking back now, it's crazy to see how much that era shaped the celebrity culture we know today. It was incredibly exciting but also complicated. We were basically the original influencers before there was even a word for it. I love that we can now revisit those moments from our own perspective and show how the women who were once the subjects of the headlines became the authors of their own narratives."

"As creatives obsessed with pop culture, we love to turn nostalgia on its head and tell the gritty truth about glossy moments from the past," said Jon Adler, Executive Producer and Head of Talent & Content Development, EverWonder Studio. "Thanks to Paris's vision and the personal reflections of the 'It Girls' themselves, this project will reveal the complex reality behind the shiny tabloid photos that stick in our memory. We're thrilled to partner with Paris, 11:11 Media, Hi Mom, and Roku to share the stories behind the spotlight."

"At Hi Mom Productions, we are passionate about telling bold, culturally resonant stories that explore the people and moments that shape our culture," said Michelle Peerali, Co-Founder, Hi Mom Productions. "This documentary and collaboration is a natural reflection of the kinds of stories we are drawn to, and we're thrilled to have been developing this project alongside 11:11 Media over the past several years. Our longstanding creative relationship with Paris Hilton, which began with 'Paris in Love,' has made this project particularly meaningful to us. We're excited to take audiences beyond the nostalgia and explore the lasting cultural impact of an era that fundamentally changed the way we experience female celebrity."

"The It Girls: Inside the 2000s" (wt) is produced by 11:11 Media, EverWonder Studio, and Hi Mom Productions. Paris Hilton, Bruce Gersh, Bruce Robertson, Joanna Studebaker, Jon Adler, Amanda Spain, Missy Walker, Andrea Metz, Michelle Peerali, and Sarah Ditum serve as executive producers. The documentary is overseen by Brian Tannenbaum, Nicole Vogel, and Louisa L. Friedman on behalf of Roku.
