For the first time, a training course on the use of the anti-tank missile system "Javelin" is being conducted at the Land Force Troop School. The system, one of the most advanced defence capabilities used by NATO member states, has now become part of the inventory of the Albanian Armed Forces.
Lieutenant Colonel Jorid Aliaj, Commander of the Land Force Troop School, emphasized that the objective of the training is to ensure the most effective and professional preparation of personnel in the use of next-generation weapon systems.
"At the Land Force Troop School, we are conducting for the first time a training course with personnel from the Light Infantry Battalion, who are being trained in the operation of the 'Javelin' anti-tank system. This system has recently been introduced into the Land Force, and personnel are being trained in operating procedures, targeting, and the application of realistic scenarios under the guidance of our instructors," Lt. Col. Aliaj stated.
The use of this system significantly enhances operators' ability to make accurate, real-time decisions, thereby improving overall operational effectiveness.
"The instructors of the Troop School are here to assist personnel in understanding the tactical and technical data of the system, ensuring that operators become fully familiar with it and are able to employ the weapon as efficiently as possible," he added.
The Commander of the Land Force Troop School stressed that this training does not replace field exercises, but rather complements them.
"Here, we replicate a variety of situations encountered in real operations, across all types of terrain, including engagement against low-flying aerial targets. Our objective is to have a force that is professionally prepared to the highest standard and to enhance the strike capability of our Armed Forces," Lt. Col. Aliaj underlined.
The "Javelin" anti-tank missile system is considered a key element of land defence, significantly increasing the Land Force's ability to counter advanced threats and operate in full compliance with Alliance standards. This investment forms part of the Armed Forces' long-term modernization strategy, aimed at strengthening deterrence and achieving full alignment with NATO capabilities and doctrine.
