BREAKING: Exactly One Year Into Trump’s Second Term, New Report Shows Costs Have Skyrocketed for Nevada Families

WASHINGTON, DC - A new report released by the U.S. Congress's Joint Economic Committee (JEC) shows that, in Donald Trump's first year back in the White House, the average Nevada household spent an additional $1,565. The report, which uses the Bureau of Economic Analysis on household spending and the Consumer Price Index, also found that the average Nevada family paid an additional $187 in housing and $250 in transportation costs during Trump's first year of his second term.

"The data is clear: Donald Trump's reckless policies and tariffs have done nothing to lower costs for families in the last year," said Senator Rosen. "In fact, the average Nevada family has paid over a thousand dollars more in the last year because of Trump's cost-raising policies like tariffs. It's unacceptable, and I'm going to keep fighting to lower costs by repealing Trump's harmful policies."

Senator Rosen has helped lead the fight to push back against Trump's reckless tariffs. Senate Republicans recently blocked an attempt to pass her bill to bring down grocery prices for hardworking Americans. Last year, she voted to pass bipartisan legislation to end Donald Trump's tariffs on Brazil, which are raising costs on everyday essentials like coffee. She also signed on to an amicus brief challenging them in court. Senator Rosen also helped introduce the Tariff Transparency Act, which would require the U.S. International Trade Commission to study and publicly report on the economic effects of tariffs on Canada and Mexico- key trading partners for Nevada industries.
