It's going to start feeling a lot like the Christmas in the Biggest Little City! The City of Reno invites the community to gather for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. at Reno City Plaza.
The holiday magic starts earlier in the evening at 4 p.m. with the 2025 Holiday Lights Festival, hosted by Great American Craft Fairs. This event is part of a two-day festival that runs Nov. 28-29 and will be full of festive fun, sparkling lights, and tree-mendous family-friendly activities.
"This is such a fun and important tradition that the City hosts every year, and I invite our community to join us in kicking off the holiday season," said Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve. "Events like this bring our community together, and I can't wait to turn on the Christmas tree lights and see the holiday magic come to life."
The Holiday Lights Festival will feature local artisan vendors for holiday shopping, photos with Santa, train rides, live music, holiday movies, kids craft zones, food trucks, local breweries, and warm beverages to help keep attendees merry and bright. The festival will return for a second weekend, December 5-6.
The event is free and open to the public and media. Free parking is available in the City Hall parking garage located at University Way and E. First Street.
