Ameren to compete in 2025 National Gas Rodeo

Six teams from Missouri and Illinois to showcase skills in Florence, Kentucky

ST. LOUIS (Sept. 10, 2025) - Ameren is sending six teams - four from Missouri and two from Illinois - to represent the company and compete at the 2025 National Gas Rodeo, held Sept. 10-12 at Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky.

"The Rodeo gives us a chance to demonstrate our commitment to safety and excellence in natural gas operations," said Eric Kozak, vice president of natural gas for Ameren Illinois. "We're thrilled to see our teams represent Ameren's values on a national stage."

Hosted by the MEA Energy Association, the National Gas Rodeo highlights the skill, safety and teamwork of natural gas professionals from across the country. The competition includes four qualifying events, including Meter Set, Service Installation, Pipe Cut, and Hand Dig - designed to mirror the real-world tasks performed by field crews daily.

"Every day, our natural gas operations teammates go above and beyond to ensure our customers receive safe and reliable service," said Pam Harrison, senior director of Missouri Gas Operations. "The National Gas Rodeo is a unique opportunity to showcase the expertise, precision and dedication our teams bring to their work, while celebrating the vital role they play in serving our communities."

Ameren Missouri will have four teams representing the following divisions:

  • Columbia
    • Captain Robert Hillerman II, Nate Knigge, Jordan Davis, Dallas Castagna, Chad Crawford
  • Rolla
    • Captain Daniel Jahnsen, Brendon Harris and Phillip Troesser
  • Wentzville and Troy
    • Captain Dan Cushing and Stephen Tedeschi
  • Dexter
    • Captain Austin Aldridge and Justin McCollough

Ameren Illinois will have two teams representing its regional divisions:

  • Peoria
    • Captain Jonathan Dorich, Scott Snedden, Colt Foster, Mike Harenberg and Sam Hunt
  • Springfield
    • Captain Justin Langley, Jason Bardwell, Zach Roberts, Clayton Dees and Lance Alaria

The top-performing teams from the qualifying events will advance to the final relay competition, where speed, accuracy and teamwork are key to victory.
