Wilkes University's Sordoni Art Gallery, in partnership with the NEPA Pride Project, announces a call for art for Out Loud: LGBTQIA+ Visibility in NEPA. This community exhibition will be projected in the gallery to accompany PULSE Nightclub: 49 Elegies by John Gutoskey, on view from June 12 to Aug. 2.

The theme of Out Loud: LGBTQIA+ Visibility in NEPA revolves around remembrance, resistance and resilience in the LGBTQIA+ community, concepts which sometimes feel like the pillars of queer existence.

Artists 18+ with artwork within the exhibition's theme are invited to submit up to two (2) pieces for consideration by the deadline of Tuesday, May 5. Selections will be announced on Sunday, May 31.

Submissions should be high quality files or images of the original artwork if submitting non-digital art. Images must have an aspect ratio of 16:9 (1920 x 1080 pixels). Animations and short videos are eligible but should be no longer than 30 seconds long.

Inclusion is not guaranteed and the committee reserves the right not to include work deemed inappropriate or of poor image quality.

Members of the community can view the projections for Out Loud: LGBTQIA+ Visibility in NEPA and the PULSE Nightclub: 49 Elegies exhibit from June 12 to Aug. 2 at the Sordoni Art Gallery in the Karambelas Media & Communication Center, 141 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
