DENVER - The Colorado Democratic Party is coordinating with local partners after Adams and Douglas counties received notice that the U.S. Department of Justice plans to send election monitors on Election Day.
The DOJ plans to send monitors to Adams and Douglas counties, two counties central to battleground fights for control of Congress. We strongly urge voters to drop their ballots off at a nearby dropbox as soon as possible and before 7pm on November 3rd.
Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib and Voter Protection Director Emily Dowd issued the following statement:
"We are working with local partners in Adams and Douglas counties to prepare for the arrival of federal election monitors to help ensure voters can cast their ballots with confidence. Our message to Coloradans is simple: stay calm, vote early and know that our voter protection team is prepared to defend this election. If you have any questions or need assistance voting, call our Voter Assistance Hotline at 1-833-336-8683."
Chair Murib continued:
"Colorado voters will not be intimidated by Donald Trump's Department of Justice. Our election system is the gold standard for accurate and safe elections, and our voter protection team is prepared to ensure that remains the case throughout the 2026 election and beyond."
