“Clear the Shelters” adoption campaign

Lewisville Animal Services has joined NBCUniversal Local's 12th annual pet adoption and donation campaign, Clear the Shelters, Presented by Hill's Pet Nutrition, Aug. 1-31.

During the week of Sunday, Aug. 16 through Saturday, Aug. 22, the adoption fee for available animals will be reduced to $60 per animal.

During the week of Sunday, Aug. 23 through Friday, Aug. 28, the adoption fee for all available animals will be reduced to $30 per animal.

On Saturday, Aug. 29, adoption fees will be waived for all animals available for adoption.

The normal adoption fee is $90 per pet.

The Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge. To see all available animals, visit the "Adoptable Pets" page. Animals are adopted from the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center on a first come, first served basis.

Hours of operation: Monday: Appointment only, Tuesday-Friday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday: 12 p.m.-5 p.m., Sunday: Closed.

Since its 2015 inception, Clear the Shelters has helped more than 1.3 million pets find new homes and has raised more than $5.6 million for participating shelters and rescues.
