Stevenson University adjunct music instructor Andrew Emerich will be performing at Super Bowl LX on Sunday as part of the United States Army Field Band. Andrew will be presenting the colors before the performance of the national anthem.
Andrew is a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army and percussionist in the Concert Band of the United States Army Field Band. During his 12 years with the band, Andrew has toured and performed throughout the United States, Norway, Scotland, Finland, and Switzerland to promote the band's mission to engage the American public, inspire patriotism, bring awareness to the Army, and serve as a diplomatic mission representing the United States.
Andrew joined Stevenson's music program in the spring of 2025 as a percussion instructor after many years of serving as a consultant for Stevenson University Marching Band. A specialist in on-field percussion-including snare, tenor, and bass drums-Andrew works closely with the Marching Band to develop its percussion playing approach and techniques.
"I draw on both my outside teaching and the structure I've gained being in the Army and the Army Field Band," Andrew said. "I aim to provide Stevenson students with a clear standard and structure that they can strive toward."
