Statement of Support Concerning Silver Rails Elementary and Bend, OR

The City of Salem stands with the Bend community as they grieve the heartbreaking tragedy at Silver Rail Elementary School. Our hearts are with the families who have lost loved ones, those who were injured, and the students, educators, and staff whose lives have been forever changed by this senseless act of violence.

We are grateful to the first responders, school personnel, and community members who acted courageously to protect others.

In moments of unimaginable loss, the strength of our communities is found in how we support one another. On behalf of the City of Salem, we extend our deepest condolences to the people of Bend and stand alongside them during this difficult time.
