Alen Simonyan meets with President of the Congress of Deputies of Kingdom of Spain

On September 24, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan met with the President of the Congress of Deputies of Kingdom of Spain Francina Armengol Socías in Madrid.

The focus of the interlocutors' discussions was on the development of Armenia-Spain relations, with particular emphasis on the activation of inter-parliamentary ties, as well as cooperation in the economic, educational, and high-tech sectors. Reference was also made to RA-EU relations, issues regarding the visa liberalisation process, and the ongoing democratic reforms in Armenia.

Special importance was attached to the issue of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan established in Washington, in the context of which the President of the Congress of Deputies of Spain valued the signed documents, noting that Spain is in favor of peace in the region.

Alen Simonyan drew the attention of his colleague to the problem of the captives and illegally held persons in Azerbaijan, highlighting the issue of those considered missing.
