Penn State Altoona student-athlete Lexi Colaianni, of Pittsburgh, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's player of the week for women's tennis.
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. - Penn State Altoona student-athlete Lexi Colaianni, of Pittsburgh, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's player of the week for women's tennis.
Colaianni delivered solid performances last week to help the Lions go 2-0 in matches against nonconference opponent Lycoming and local conference rival Mount Aloysius.
In Friday's victory against Lycoming, Colaianni bested her opponent 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2 Singles, while contributing to a 6-0 No. 2 Doubles victory. She continued her performance on Sunday against Mount Aloysius, winning 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) and 6-0 in No. 3 Doubles. Colaianni's record so far this season is 7-0.
The Penn State Altoona women's tennis team's next match is this Friday, Sept. 26, against conference foe La Roche University. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
