LACERS Board of Administration Announces Election of Officers

At its meeting on July 28, 2026, the LACERS Board of Administration conducted its annual election of officers, designating leadership roles for the upcoming year. Commissioner Annie Chao was elected to continue serving as Board President. An Active Member-elected representative, Ms. Chao has served on the Board of Administration since 2016 and is an Investment Officer for Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions.

Commissioner Sung Won Sohn was elected to serve as Board Vice President. Dr. Sohn, an internationally recognized economist and President of SS Economics, was originally appointed to the board by the Mayor in 2015 and recently reappointed to a five-year term ending June 30, 2031.

Both officers will serve a one-year term. In these leadership roles, President Chao and Vice President Sohn will continue working alongside fellow Board commissioners to direct investment strategy, set general policy, and fulfill the system's fiduciary duty to secure and grow the trust fund for all LACERS Members.
