Director-General Si Naichao of the Department of Transport of Hainan Province, Mayor Chen Yang of Danzhou City, and Chairperson Wang Ran of Hainan Harbor & Shipping Holding Visited COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong)

On November 17, Si Naichao, Director-General of the Department of Transport of Hainan Province; Chen Yang, Mayor of Danzhou City; and Wang Ran, Chairperson of Hainan Harbor & Shipping Holding Co., Ltd., along with their delegation, visited COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong). Theyheld discussions with Chairperson Qian Weizhong and President Zhu Changyu of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong).
During the meeting, the participating parties first studied and reviewed the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping on November 6 after hearing the work report on the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port in Sanya City, Hainan. They engaged in in-depth discussions on thoroughly implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions regarding the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, promoting the effective implementation of the deepened strategic cooperation between the COSCO SHIPPING Group and the Hainan Provincial Government, strengthening the construction of the Hainan Regional Headquarters, fostering coordinated development between Hainan and Hong Kong, and upgrading the logistics system of the Free Trade Port.
Si Naichao stated that the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port is currently at a critical stage, and the port and shipping industry is a core support for the Free Trade Port. He expressed hope that the COSCO SHIPPING Hainan Regional Headquarters would fully leverage its coordination and integration functions, increase resource investment, enhance the operational efficiency of the regional logistics supply chain, and deepen the linkage between Hainan and the ASEAN and global markets. The Department of Transport of Hainan Province will efficiently coordinate and resolve relevant issues, fully supporting COSCO SHIPPING's high-quality development in Hainan.
Chen Yang stated that Danzhou Yangpu is accelerating the construction of a modern logistics system adapted toindependent customs operation.He expressed hope that COSCO SHIPPING would further leverage its global shipping network and resource advantages to promote increased international routes and enhance port service capabilities. The Danzhou Municipal Government will continue to optimise the business environment, providing comprehensive support for corporate investment and development.
Wang Ran reviewed the synergistic effects achieved since the execution of the strategic cooperation agreement with COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong). He expressed hope that both sides would further leverage their respective advantages, empower each other, and work together to promote closer cooperation of higher quality and broader scope, jointly contributing to the group's goal of building a world-class shipping technology enterprise and to the high-level development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
Qian Weizhong expressed gratitude to the Department of Transport of Hainan Province, Danzhou City, and Hainan Harbor & Shipping Holdingfor their long-term support and assistance. He pointed out that COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) will thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. In accordance with the content of the deepened strategic cooperation agreement between the Hainan Provincial Government and the COSCO SHIPPING Group, and based on the "three platforms" positioning of the Hainan Regional Headquarters, COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong) will lead the coordination of the group's resources in Hainan. It will increase efforts in areas such as enhancing the capacity of international hub seaports, developing digital supply chains, promoting green and low-carbon transformation, and coordinating shipping resources between Hainan and Hong Kong. This will help Hainan build a modern logistics system of "passage + hub + network" and actively explore feasible paths for the agglomeration and development of high-end shipping services such as marine insurance and smart ship services in Hainan.
In the future, all parties will take this meeting as an opportunity to strengthen regular communication mechanisms, further deepen policy coordination, resource sharing, and talent exchange, and translate cooperative consensus into practical results. Together, they will write a new chapter of high-level opening and high-quality development for the Hainan Free Trade Port.
The meeting was also attended by Chief Engineer Zhang Yuejia of the Department of Transport of Hainan Province; Director Shao Jinning of the Transportation and Port Bureau of Yangpu Economic Development Zone in Danzhou City; Chairperson Shi Rui of Hainan Harbor & Shipping International, and relevant personnel from the Marketing Centre; as well as Director Liu Haitao; Vice President Lin Jian, Chief Accountant Wang Yong, Assistant to President Jia Guangchao and Yu Lei of COSCO SHIPPING (Hong Kong).
