Gilbert Police Department Issues Safety Reminder on High School “Senior Assassins” Game

Gilbert, Ariz. - The Gilbert Police Department would like to inform our community about the "Senior Assassins" game currently taking place among high school seniors across the Valley, including in Gilbert. The game typically involves students using water guns to "eliminate" one another over several months. This game is not endorsed by school districts or the Gilbert Police Department.

To keep our teens and neighborhoods safe, Gilbert PD is sharing the following reminders for parents and students:

• Use brightly colored water guns that are clearly toys and cannot be mistaken for real firearms.
• Know where your teens are, who they're with, and what their plans are.
• Avoid playing on private property or in business parking lots to prevent misunderstandings or trespassing concerns.
• Talk with your teens about how the game may be interpreted by others and the potential risks involved.
• Respect those who are not participating. If someone asks you to stop, stop.
• Do not grab, block, detain, or engage in any physical contact with others.
• Do not participate while driving or near moving vehicles.
• Stay out of roadways at all times.
• If contacted by police, stop and follow directives.
