This event marks the Institute's first large-scale convening in Canada, gathering prominent business leaders and global investors to examine the country's economic outlook and investment opportunities
TORONTO, CANADA, AUGUST 11, 2026-The Milken Institute announced today it will hold its Global Dialogues Toronto on September 14, 2026, at the Park Hyatt Toronto, timed to Prime Minister Mark Carney's Canada Investment Summit. The Global Dialogues will convene business leaders and decision-makers to explore how Canada can continue to enhance its position as a leading destination for investment, talent, and long-term growth.
"As investors navigate a more fragmented and unpredictable global landscape, Canada is emerging as a beacon of resilience anchored by strong institutions, critical mineral wealth, and a fast-growing innovation economy," said Laura Deal Lacey, Executive Vice President International at the Milken Institute. "Global Dialogues Toronto is our platform for turning that resilience into real investment and lasting partnerships."
The Global Dialogues Toronto, underwritten by TD Bank Group, will feature leading investors, senior executives, policymakers, and pension leaders, including:
The program will explore how one of the world's most stable and sophisticated economies is positioning itself for long-term investment leadership, driven by deep capital pools, global financial connectivity, a respected legal and regulatory framework, and growing strategic importance in sectors such as critical minerals and energy transition. The discussions will be posted on the Milken Institute's website and available for viewing.
Expected panels include:
"What makes Canada particularly compelling right now is the strategic intent behind its capital. Building on a long-standing commitment to global trade and investment, Canada is sharpening its focus on economic resilience through initiatives such as the proposed C$25 billion Canada Strong Fund and a renewed emphasis on trade diversification," said Mary Ng, Senior Fellow, Milken Institute International, and former Minister of International Trade, Canada. "Global Dialogues Toronto creates the space for Canadian business leaders and global investors to move beyond introductions and into the kind of substantive dialogue that leads to tangible investment, meaningful partnerships, and lasting economic impact."
