Cirielli in Copenhagen to meet Italian business leaders and Danish authorities

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Edmondo Cirielli travelled to Copenhagen on an official visit to meet with the Permanent Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen, as well as representatives of the Italian professional and business community in the Danish capital.

The meetings confirmed the positive momentum of bilateral relations between Italy and Denmark, marked by growing convergence on a number of issues of common interest, including energy security, the sustainable management of migration flows, and development cooperation. Bilateral trade has also continued to expand significantly, surpassing EUR 8 billion in 2025, an increase of 10% compared with the previous year.

In addition to discussing ways to further strengthen the economic and trade partnership between the two countries, the talks focused on the main issues on the European and international agenda, with particular attention to opportunities for enhanced cooperation in development initiatives in Africa, the ongoing European Union enlargement process, and collaboration in the Arctic region within the frameworks of NATO and the European Union, also in light of Italy's new Arctic Strategy, presented by Minister Antonio Tajani earlier this year.
