Construction work on a series of roadway improvement projects in the Milton Jones Road area, finishing the work ahead of the start of the school year. These coordinated efforts were designed to improve connectivity, ease congestion, and enhance traffic flow throughout this key part of the county's road network.
The completed work includes extending Milton Jones Road from Friendship Road to County Road 13 with a new roundabout, along with widening and resurfacing the existing section of Milton Jones Road from County Road 13 to State Route 181. Additional improvements were made along Jonesboro Road and Pollard Road, where crews widened and resurfaced the corridor from Daphne Avenue to Friendship Road. Together, these upgrades represent nearly $3 million in transportation improvements.
These projects will increase roadway capacity, improve connectivity, and help traffic move more efficiently for residents, commuters, and families traveling to and from area schools each day.
This work was made possible through a partnership between the Baldwin County Commission and the City of Daphne. Baldwin County extends its appreciation to the City of Daphne for its collaboration and continued commitment to improving local infrastructure. The new roadway segment of Milton Jones Road was completed by Rob Middleton Construction, while widening and resurfacing along existing corridors was carried out by the Baldwin County Traffic Operations Division of the Baldwin County Highway Department.
