Stakeholder Notice: Request for Information on Non-Emergency Food for Peace Title II Programming

Washington, D.C., July 6, 2026 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture is committed to addressing acute global hunger and strengthening global food security and resilience.

With emergency assistance already underway under Food for Peace Title II programming, USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) is requesting stakeholder input on how the agency will design and administer the non-emergency portion of the program, including:

  • Implementing the program to increase food security and build resilience while reducing and eliminating the need for U.S. government-sponsored humanitarian food assistance.
  • Identifying commodity supply constraints, product opportunities, and logistics needs.
  • Improving nutritional formulations using high-quality American agricultural products.
  • Streamlining how the program is implemented and how assistance is delivered.

Managed by FAS for fiscal years 2025 and 2026, Food for Peace and other USDA food assistance programs work alongside agency efforts to build trade capacity and support long-term economic development, helping countries transition from being food aid recipients to commercial buyers.

The Request for Information (RFI) issued today focuses specifically on the non-emergency components of the program and is available at https://grants.gov/search-results-detail/363075.

The deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m. EDT, July 24, 2026. See the full RFI at grants.gov for more information.
