RESCHEDULED Sidewalk work on Clark Lane to now start next week

Work to close single lanes of Providence Road, Range Line Street, and Clark Lane

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The start date for a project upgrading pedestrian facilities in multiple locations across Columbia on Missouri Route 163 (Providence Road), Missouri Route 763 (Range Line Street), and Boone County Route PP (Clark Lane) has been pushed back a few days due to weather. Originally scheduled to begin Tuesday, Nov. 3, the contractor working with the Missouri Department of Transportation now expects to begin on Monday, Nov. 9.

Planned improvements include sidewalks, curb ramps, and pavement approaches to bring them into compliance with the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). At their May 2026 meeting, the Missouri Department of Transportation awarded a $1,362,809.88 contract to Ti-Zack Concrete, LLC to complete the project.

Work is now scheduled to begin on Clark Lane from the I-70/U.S. Route 63 Connector to Woodland Springs Court on Monday, Nov. 9. The entrance to Creekwood Parkway from Clark Lane will also be closed during construction, but the exact closure date is yet to be determined. This portion of the project is expected to take approximately 2 weeks.

As part of this contract, upgrades are also planned at the following locations:

  • Range Line Street from Vandiver Drive to Elleta Boulevard.
  • Providence Road at Boone County Route AC.
  • Providence Road at Southampton Drive.
  • Providence Road at Mick Deaver Memorial Drive.
  • Providence Road at Green Meadows Road.
  • Providence Road at the Boone County Route K and Old Plank Road intersection.

Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent closures of one lane of roadway with flaggers, as necessary. By contract, the project is scheduled for completion by Dec. 31, 2026. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
