High school students invited to compete in ‘Most Awesome’ Programming Contest

Northwest Missouri State University's School of Computer Science and Information Systems invites high school students who enjoy solving complex problems to test their skills and win prizes during "The Most Awesome Programming Contest" this spring.

The event is from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, in Colden Hall on the Northwest in Maryville. The competition portion of the day will last three hours during the afternoon after a morning practice session and lunch.

Standard International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) rules will apply as teams of three people will be allowed to use one computer and any printed resources. Languages will include C, C++, Java and Python; Copilot and other AI tools cannot be used.

The event is free and open to all high school students in the Kansas City region. The contest is limited to three teams per school and a total of 28 teams.
