Children 18 and younger can get free lunches and snacks in Berkeley this summer. No registration or income check is required.
Kids 18 and under can get free lunches and snacks across Berkeley this summer at parks, a community center, the pool, and the Central Library.
You don't need to apply, show proof of income, or sign up. Children just need to go to any participating spot during mealtimes and eat the meals there.
Free summer lunches make sure kids still get healthy food even when school is out.
Until July 31, the City is handing out free lunches and snacks at four different locations in Berkeley. In downtown Berkeley, kids can also enjoy health and wellness activities and get free lunches at the Central Library until August 6.
Lunches and snacks are served by Recreation Division staff Monday through Friday, until July 31, excluding July 3.
This program is run by the Parks, Recreation & Waterfront Department.
The Berkeley Public Library serves free lunches for anyone 18 and under.
After lunch, kids can join in activities like cooking classes, arts and crafts, games, and more.

California's Summer Food Service Program gives free meals to kids during summer vacation and school breaks at summer meal service sites.
All kids 18 and under can join, no matter their income. Meals are served at parks, libraries, schools, community centers, and other public places across the state.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) funds this program, and the California Department of Education operates it. The USDA does not allow discrimination in its programs and activities and has a way to file complaints if needed.
