Minister Grlić Radman attends meeting of EU foreign ministers in Ukraine

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman visited Ukraine on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. During his visit, he travelled to Bucha to mark the fourth anniversary of the city's liberation and the discovery of crimes committed during the Russian aggression, and participated in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU Member States in Kyiv. The visit once again confirmed the strong and continuous support of the European Union for Ukraine.

By observing a nationwide minute of silence and taking part in a candle-lighting ceremony at the Memorial to the Victims of the Russian Occupation near the Church of St. Andrew and All Saints in Bucha, the ministers paid tribute to the victims of the Russian occupation.

In Kyiv, the ministers held meetings with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, and other representatives of the Ukrainian authorities. Discussions focused on continued political, military, financial, and humanitarian support for Ukraine, as well as on achieving a just and sustainable peace based on international law. On this occasion, it was reiterated that Russia must be held accountable for the crimes committed.

Grlić Radman stated in Kyiv that, at the initiative of Croatia and Sweden, care for Ukrainian veterans was placed high on the agenda of the ministerial meeting. He emphasized that the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, supported the organization of a conference dedicated to Ukrainian veterans. This represents an important initiative aimed at establishing structured engagement within the European Union in the field of care and reintegration of Ukrainian veterans.

In this context, Croatia highlighted its contribution as a country with recent post-war experience, particularly in the areas of demining, reconstruction, security sector reform, and the reintegration of liberated territories.
