Greensboro, N.C. - On Friday, June 12, 2026, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin traveled to Greensboro, North Carolina, for a series of stops focused on manufacturing and agricultural innovation.

Administrator Zeldin began his day at Toyota's North Carolina Battery Manufacturing facility, the company's first automotive battery plant in North America. The site represents a nearly $14 billion investment and is expected to employ 5,100 workers, operating 14 production lines that supply batteries for hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric vehicles. Administrator Zeldin toured the plant and met with Toyota leadership on-site.

He then visited North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where he met with university leaders to discuss the technologies being developed to support American farmers. During the tour, faculty demonstrated advances in robotics, precision agriculture, and automated machinery, including a system used to milk cows.

On Saturday, Administrator Zeldin met with leadership from JetZero at Piedmont Triad International Airport, where the company broke ground on its first U.S. factory. The 8-million-square-foot campus will serve as JetZero's manufacturing and final assembly hub for its commercial aircraft. In Greensboro, they will produce the Z4, an aircraft designed to carry up to 250 passengers with a range of 5,000 nautical miles. JetZero took Administrator Zeldin to the site of the groundbreaking and discussed their vision for their new Greensboro campus.
