Students can learn about study abroad opportunities at the upcoming Study Abroad Fair

When Sally Bornhorst, a marine science major at the University of Delaware, studied abroad in Denmark last spring, her Polar Biology class went on an excursion to arctic Norway to experience many of the things they had learned about in the classroom, including native communities and their ways of life. While there, the group learned about native Sámi culture and the native Sámi reindeer herders, and reindeer's adaptations to living in the arctic. They then got to meet and feed the reindeer.

"This trip really helped us connect the things we learned about in class to real life experiences. It was incredible to learn about such a resilient culture, and then get to meet some furry friends! It was such an impactful and educational experience," the World Scholar said of the semester-long DIS Copenhagen study abroad program.

Whether you're headed as far north as Bornhorst, volunteering in Limerick, chasing sunsets in Greece or finding your power in Budapest, there are over 100 semester or short-term programs in 40+ countries and thousands of courses waiting to be discovered. A pioneer in study abroad, UD knows what students are looking for in their global learning experiences, with staff and faculty from all colleges working to design UD Study Abroad programs that provide students with opportunities that develop cross-cultural understanding and a global mindset both in and beyond the classroom.
