WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) applauded the selection of Indiana as a recipient of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Test Site.
"Reestablishing American leadership in drones is critical to our national security," said Senator Young. "Today's announcement designating Indiana as a drone test site affirms what we've long known - our state is uniquely positioned to help lead the way in the development and deployment of this important technology. With our strong defense industry, advanced manufacturing capabilities, innovative colleges and universities, and skilled Hoosier workforce, Indiana is ready to help unleash American drone dominance."
In December, Young led a letter in support of Indiana's application signed by the entire Indiana congressional delegation. The full delegation support letter is available here.
As a member of the Senate Commerce Committee, Young is working on drone issues at the federal level.
