Partial Alley Closure Scheduled for Natural Gas System Improvements

Great Falls, Mont. - July 24, 2026 - NorthWestern Energy will begin a partial alley closure Monday, July 27, between 3rd Avenue South and 4th Avenue South, from 9th Street to 10th Street to do natural gas infrastructure upgrades.

The alley will be partially closed as crews complete work in the area. Construction is expected to take several weeks, weather and construction conditions permitting.

This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of crews and the public as work continues to update natural gas infrastructure in the area.

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution when traveling near the work zone and to follow all posted signage and directions from onsite personnel.

This project helps ensure a safe, reliable natural gas system for today while preparing for the future energy needs of the Great Falls community. NorthWestern Energy thanks residents, businesses and travelers for their patience while this important work is completed.
